OpenCL is a standard for programming heterogeneous computing systems comprised of CPUs, GPUs, and other processors. It includes a framework to define the platform in terms of a host, such as a CPU, and one or more compute devices, such as a GPU. Additionally, it provides a C-based programming language for writing programs for these compute devices. Using OpenCL, programmers can develop task-based and data-parallel applications that leverage the diverse processing capabilities within a single system, optimizing performance and efficiency for government workflows.
