NATO Architecture Framework (NAF) Training in New York City

This instructor-led, live training in New York City (online or onsite) is aimed at beginner to advanced-level architects and professionals in the field of enterprise architecture who wish to gain a comprehensive understanding and practical skills in utilizing the NAF for government enterprise architecture. The course covers all aspects without focusing on specific views or functions. Sparx Enterprise Architect or any other preferred tools are utilized.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

• Understand the structure and purpose of the NATO Architecture Framework.
• Identify and describe various architecture views within NAF.
• Map stakeholder requirements to architectural components.
• Use tools like Sparx Enterprise Architect to create NAF-compliant models for government.

Objective: This course is designed to assist participants in understanding how to implement the UAF and NAF enterprise architecture frameworks for government.

Gaining insight into the concepts of UAF 1.1 within the context of the NATO NAF v4 Architecture Framework is highly beneficial. The Domain Meta-model (DMM) of UAF delineates various stakeholder concerns related to a system, such as security, information, and measurements, through a series of predefined viewpoints. These are then mapped to the corresponding views in NAFv4.

Additionally, the Architecture Stages outlined in the NATO NAFv4 Methodology help participants understand how to effectively utilize UAF views to ensure coherence and completeness. This methodology also enables traceability from high-level goals down to the personal and physical resources required for their realization.

The concepts and techniques covered during the course are progressively applied by attendees through an end-to-end case study and a series of exercises.
