Training Agenda

Phase 1 — The AI Landscape & Platforms
40 minutes

  • Overview of the AI ecosystem
  • Walkthrough of AI interfaces
  • Comparison of platform capabilities
  • Introduction to the AI Tool Decision Matrix

This section provides a foundational context for government.

Phase 2 — Comparative Stress Tests
70 minutes

This is the core component of the training.

Stress tests:

  1. Research synthesis
  2. Spreadsheet and reasoning task
  3. Multimodal reasoning
  4. Comparison of creative outputs

Participants will document their findings in the Decision Matrix.

Break (10 minutes)

Phase 3 — Workflow Integration & Custom AI
50 minutes

  • Demonstration of Microsoft 365 automation
  • Demonstration of Google Workspace integration
  • Comparison of custom GPTs, Copilot Agents, and Gemini Gems

The trainer will demonstrate a simple agent example for government use.

Break (10 minutes)

Phase 4 — Strategy, Privacy & ROI
~40 minutes

  • Discussion on data privacy
  • Comparison of free versus paid options
  • Analysis of subscription return on investment (ROI)

Participants will finalize their Decision Matrix for government.

Final Decision Matrix + Q&A
~20 minutes

Participants will determine:

  • The best tool for research
  • The best tool for writing
  • The best tool for productivity

The instructor will facilitate a discussion and address any questions.

Requirements

Understanding of:

  • Fundamental workplace productivity tasks, including research, writing, document creation, and data analysis.

  • The general application of AI tools to support professional workflows.

Experience with:

  • Utilizing common workplace tools such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or similar productivity platforms.

  • Basic interaction with at least one AI assistant (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, or Microsoft Copilot) is beneficial but not mandatory.

Technical Requirements:

  • Participants should bring a laptop with internet access.

  • Access to at least one AI platform (free versions are acceptable).
