Course Outline
Module 1: Overview & Architecture
Examine the Dynamics 365 ecosystem and primary components of Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (FO), define the architecture of D365FO, and evaluate design and deployment considerations relevant for government implementations.
Module 2: Developer Tools
Manage system implementations via Lifecycle Services, customize D365FO using Visual Studio, administer source code and artifacts through version control, and utilize additional development tools to execute project requirements.
Module 3: Solution Design
Determine necessary application stack components and server architecture, implement Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) protocols, and design solutions compliant with D365FO standards for public sector use.
Module 4: AOT Elements
Create forms, create and extend tables, establish Extended Data Types (EDT) and enumerations, and develop classes to extend Application Object Tree (AOT) elements.
Module 5: Code Development & Testing
Develop X++ and object-oriented code, extend D365FO functionality, describe testing frameworks and tools, and perform unit testing to ensure system integrity.
Module 6: Data Migration
Evaluate migration tools and methodologies, plan data migration strategies, prepare datasets for transfer, and execute data migration processes. Lab: Data Export/Import using Data Entity.
Module 7: Frameworks
Implement D365FO functionality to support operational requirements.
Module 8: Integration
Identify data integration patterns and scenarios, implement data integration concepts and solutions, establish recurring integrations, connect D365FO with Microsoft Azure, troubleshoot integration errors, and implement the Data Management Package API for inter-agency data exchange.
Module 9: Reporting
Evaluate the capabilities and limitations of reporting tools in D365FO, design and revise Dynamics reports and workspaces, and create data sources that connect to external data stores for government analytics.
Module 10: Security & Performance
Utilize performance tools and LCS Environment Monitoring to enhance system oversight, implement role-based security policies, apply performance optimization techniques, optimize batch process and user interface performance, enhance integration efficiency, and optimize report generation. Lab: Async & Sandbox Functionality.
