Course Outline
Module 1: Overview & Architecture
Provide an overview of the Dynamics 365 ecosystem and its major components, specifically for government. Describe the architecture of Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (FO), and discuss relevant design and deployment considerations to ensure alignment with public sector workflows and governance.
Module 2: Developer Tools
Manage system implementations using Lifecycle Services, customize D365FO by utilizing Visual Studio, manage source code and artifacts through version control, and work with other development tools to complete tasks efficiently for government.
Module 3: Solution Design
Determine the required application stack components and server architecture, implement Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), and design a solution for D365FO that aligns with public sector requirements.
Module 4: AOT Elements
Create forms, tables, Extended Data Types (EDTs), and enumerations. Develop classes and extend AOT elements to enhance functionality within the Dynamics 365 environment for government.
Module 5: Code Development & Testing
Develop X++ code and object-oriented code, extend D365FO functionality, describe the test framework and tools, and perform unit testing to ensure robust and reliable applications for government.
Module 6: Data Migration
Describe migration tools and methodologies, plan a migration strategy, prepare data for migration, and execute the data migration process. Lab: Perform data export/import using Data Entity to support seamless transitions for government.
Module 7: Frameworks
Implement D365FO functionality using various frameworks to ensure efficient and effective operations within public sector environments.
Module 8: Integration
Identify data integration patterns and scenarios, implement data integration concepts and solutions, manage recurring integrations, integrate D365FO with Microsoft Azure, troubleshoot integration errors, and utilize the Data Management Package API for government.
Module 9: Reporting
Describe the capabilities and limitations of reporting tools in D365FO, design, create, and revise Dynamics Reports, workspaces, and data sources that connect to external data stores, ensuring they meet the reporting needs of public sector organizations.
Module 10: Security & Performance
Describe and implement performance tools and LCS Environment Monitoring tools, apply role-based security policies and requirements, use fundamental performance optimization techniques, optimize batch processes, user interface performance, integration performance, and report performance. Lab: Explore asynchronous and sandbox functionality to enhance system performance for government.
