Course Outline
Module 1: Overview & Architecture
Analyze the Dynamics 365 ecosystem and key components of Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (FO). Examine the underlying architecture of D365FO and evaluate design principles and deployment considerations relevant for government systems.
Module 2: Developer Tools
Administer system implementations via Lifecycle Services. Customize D365FO using Visual Studio and manage source code artifacts through version control protocols. Utilize complementary development tools to execute technical tasks efficiently.
Module 3: Solution Design
Define required application stack components and server infrastructure. Implement Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) practices and design robust solutions tailored for Dynamics 365FO environments.
Module 4: AOT Elements
Create and configure forms, tables, Extended Data Types (EDT), and enumerations within the Application Object Tree (AOT). Develop classes and extend existing AOT elements to meet specific operational requirements for government applications.
Module 5: Code Development & Testing
Write X++ and object-oriented code to extend D365FO functionality. Utilize test frameworks and tools to perform unit testing, ensuring software integrity and compliance with standards for government deployment.
Module 6: Data Migration
Evaluate migration methodologies and tools. Formulate a comprehensive data migration strategy, prepare datasets, and execute the migration process. Lab: Utilize Data Entities for export and import operations.
Module 7: Frameworks
Implement D365FO functionality utilizing established enterprise frameworks to ensure scalability and maintainability for public sector use cases.
Module 8: Integration
Identify data integration patterns and scenarios. Implement core data integration concepts, recurring integrations, and connections with Microsoft Azure. Resolve integration errors and utilize the Data Management Package API to facilitate secure data exchange for government workflows.
Module 9: Reporting
Assess the capabilities and constraints of reporting tools within D365FO. Design, create, and refine Dynamics reports, workspaces, and external data sources to support decision-making and accountability for government operations.
Module 10: Security & Performance
Deploy performance monitoring tools and LCS Environment Monitoring features. Enforce role-based security policies in accordance with federal guidelines. Apply fundamental optimization techniques for batch processes, user interfaces, integration, and reporting. Lab: Configure Async functionality and sandbox environments to ensure system stability and security for government users.
