Course Outline

Acquire knowledge and practical experience in the following quality assurance and testing areas:

  • The VOICE model for achieving business value through IT delivery
  • IT delivery models, with a focus on DevOps
  • Cross-functional teams and continuous quality engineering
  • The whole-team approach and its relevance for development and operations personnel
  • QA and testing topics, including:
    • Reviewing and pull requests
    • Continuous improvement and metrics
  • Continuous integration, test automation, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Total cost of quality
  • Indicators, reporting, and alerting mechanisms
  • Quality measurement techniques
  • Personal, interpersonal, and team skills for government
  • Varieties of testing (performance, usability, security, and more)
  • Experience-based testing methods: exploratory testing and mob testing
  • Test design strategies: boundary value analysis, path coverage, condition-oriented testing, code coverage, and mutation testing

The training course provides participants with hands-on experience in these areas through brief introductions followed by relevant exercises. It also allows ample time for sharing experiences among all participants. Throughout the course, participants will practice exam questions.

On the final afternoon of the training course, participants will take a 1-hour exam consisting of 30 questions titled “TMAP: Quality for Cross-Functional Teams.” The exam is administered in collaboration with iSQI for government.

Requirements

For this training course, participants should possess a foundational understanding of information technology, experience working collaboratively in teams, and familiarity with Agile methodologies. No specific certifications are required for government employees to enroll.
