SAFe® Product Owner/Product Manager with POPM Certification Training Course
Develop the skills needed to guide value delivery in a Lean enterprise — and learn the activities, tools, and mechanisms used for managing backlogs and programs — by becoming a SAFe® 4 Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM). During this two-day course, participants will gain comprehensive knowledge of Agile Release Train (ART), how to deliver value, and how to effectively fulfill their role.
They will also learn how to apply Lean thinking in creating Epics, breaking them down into Features and Stories, planning and executing Iterations, and planning Program Increments. By the end, participants will understand the Continuous Delivery Pipeline and DevOps culture, learn how to effectively integrate the roles of Product Owner and Product Manager, and what is needed for continuous improvement of ART.
To fulfill the role of SAFe® Product Owner/Product Manager, participants should be able to:
- Apply SAFe in a Lean enterprise
- Align SAFe Lean-Agile principles and values with PO/PM roles
- Collaborate with Lean Portfolio Management
- Discover continuous value through Program Increment planning
- Execute Program Increments and deliver continuous value
- Describe the Product Owner and Product Manager roles
- Create an action plan for their role
Registration for the course includes:
- Participant workbook
- Preparation and eligibility to take the SAFe® 4 Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) exam
- One-year membership in the SAFe Community platform
- Certificate of completion
Participants must attend both days of the course to qualify for the exam.

Requirements
All are welcome to attend the course, regardless of experience. However, the following prerequisites are strongly recommended for those who intend to take the SAFe® 4 Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) certification exam:
- Participation in the Leading SAFe® course
- Experience working in a SAFe environment
- Experience with Lean, Agile, or other relevant certifications

21 HoursThe PAQ course is a three-day experiential training program designed to prepare participants for practical exam scenarios, focusing on developing skills that can be directly applied in their professional roles.
The examination format involves a hands-on assessment where candidates are provided with a product backlog release, which includes user stories and associated design documentation. Additionally, the application will contain seeded defects. Candidates will receive clear instructions on the expectations for the practical assessment and will have the opportunity to create the necessary work products. Each practical assessment will include 1 or 2 scenario-based questions requiring written answers (up to 5 questions in total), covering a range of competencies. These written responses, along with the solutions to the product backlog release, will be evaluated by an independent assessor. The assessment duration is 2.5 hours.
