Module 1: Identity Mapping and Shared Awareness

Objective: Foster psychological safety and establish a foundational understanding of individual and team diversity within hybrid work environments.
Activities:

  • Emotional Check-in (brief personal introductions using emotion indicators)
  • Identity Mapping Dashboard – Participants select tags reflecting cultural origin, generational cohort, hybrid work style, and core values on a shared digital platform (Miro/Mural/whiteboard)
  • Breakout Sessions – Sharing of identity narratives in groups of three

Module 2: Cultural Intelligence versus Emotional Intelligence

Objective: Analyze the interaction between Cultural Intelligence (CQ) and Emotional Intelligence (EQ) to navigate diverse and emotionally complex professional settings.
Key Topics:

  • The four CQ capabilities: Drive, Knowledge, Strategy, and Action
  • Application of EQ principles: self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, and relational mastery
  • Navigating bias, misunderstanding, and misalignment across age, culture, and work style
  • Generational perspectives on authority, flexibility, and feedback
  • Building emotional resilience in dispersed teams
  • Managing hybrid conflict and difficult conversations

Experiences and Exercises:

  • CQ and EQ Self-Awareness Assessment (rapid diagnostic using dual models)
  • Generational Values Mapping (team exercise utilizing fictional personas)
  • The EQ Mirror – Participants practice active speaking; peers provide structured feedback on warmth, tone, pauses, and word choice
  • Difficult Conversations Scenarios – Role-play high-stakes hybrid conflict and feedback interactions with observer insights

Module 3: Collaboration in the Hybrid Environment

Objective: Redesign habits, rituals, and digital behaviors to support inclusive and high-impact hybrid collaboration.
Key Topics:

  • Mastery of asynchronous versus synchronous communication
  • Hybrid meeting protocols, expectations, and equity
  • Establishing psychological safety and trust without informal “hallway” interactions
  • The New Rules of Presence – Strategies for projecting warmth, clarity, and leadership through digital channels

Exercises:

  • Hybrid Meeting Review – Audit a recent team interaction to identify energy leaks
  • Collaboration Channel Challenge – Redesign team communications based on reach, impact, and emotional tone
  • Presence Simulation – Participants practice short messages (video, chat, email) aimed at warmth or authority across formats, followed by peer scoring
  • Rapid Ritual Design – Teams design a “Better Hybrid Monday” routine using shared async/sync tools

Module 4: The Human Collaboration Canvas

Objective: Consolidate learning into a practical, team-level Collaboration Blueprint for government operations.
Key Themes:

  • Redefining decision-making, conflict resolution, celebration, feedback, and connection
  • Establishing rituals for connection and flexibility

Activities:

  • Human Collaboration Canvas – Teams complete a structured template addressing:
    • Team tone and norms
    • Decision and conflict strategy
    • Meeting cadence
    • Trust and flexibility rituals
    • Check-in and check-out methods
  • Commitment Circle – Each participant commits to three new collaboration behaviors to implement in their actual team
  • Reflection Wall – Collective mural documenting key insights and planned changes

Closing Session

  • “One Shift I’ll Make” Open Forum
  • Digital Certificate and Post-Session Toolkit
  • Invitation to optional CQ/EQ Follow-Up Clinic
